Bracket Challenge Update:

Things are about to get real – like really real.

The first round of voting is complete in the Rogers Arena 20th anniversary bracket challenge and, as expected, the favourites pretty much dominated in all four categories of Canucks, Hockey, Sports and Events.

From 32 moments down to 16, it’s time to choose which moments move on to the elite eight and one step closer to being named top memory of their category and eventual overall champion.

The final four Canucks moments features Slaying the Dragon vs. Off the Stanchion and 11 Seconds  vs. 6th Longest Playoff Game. All four moments just so happen to be exhilarating overtime wins by the Canucks. Coincidence? I think not.

Over in Hockey, fittingly, the men’s and women’s gold medal teams from the 2010 Winter Olympics meet (gold was bound to meet gold), while tributes to Trevor Linden and Luc Bourdon make up the other matchup. Bourdon’s tribute edged Pat Quinn’s tribute in a round one upset.

The Vancouver Grizzlies are gone, but not forgotten in the Sports category as the main match-up has the Grizzlies first game going head-to-head with the time they almost beat Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. So close, kind of. Below them it’s Royal Puck Drop vs. Rock Bottom: In Your House. Interestingly enough, these two came into competition as the fifth and sixth ranked moments, but both knocked off higher ranked opponents to find themselves in the sweet 16.

And finally in Events, a powerhouse of bands is vying for top spot. Bryan Adams takes on The Police and U2 faces off with Coldplay, who upset Metallica in round one. Who will be singing sweet music into the elite eight? You decide.

Did we mention there’s an incredible prize up for grabs for helping decide our top moments in Rogers Arena history?

Just for voting, you’ll have a chance to win 10 pairs of Canucks tickets and 10 pairs of concert tickets!

Vote early, vote often!
